Interesting article here on Facebook/Meta wanting to trim staff by making annual goals much harder to make so people will fail and be sent packing. The one thing companies with this strategy don't realize is that some good and great workers will see the cliff coming, know that the remainder of the work will be added to their plate and decide to go someplace else ahead of the trainwreck. Thus with the top people out the door, the company is forced to keep the poor performers and give them more work they were not doing in the 1st place increasing their failure rate. Such shortsighted leadership.
[[Pushing Employees Out
Besides cutting hiring, Zuckerberg has found another way to cut costs: pushing current employees out. To do this, Meta will set aggressive performance goals that will be difficult for some employees to achieve.
"Realistically, there are probably a bunch of people at the company who shouldn't be here," the chief executive said.
"Part of my hope by raising expectations and having more aggressive goals, and just kind of turning up the heat a little bit, is that I think some of you might decide that this place isn't for you, and that self-selection is OK with me," he added.]]
