Ex BH Nexus guy here. Things were getting too confusing for power customers having to choose between GE or Nexus controls products. Plus the Nexus controls offering was a flop. GE was only survival option.

I guess that Gas Power did not know that they needed Nexus Controls when Baker Hughes separated.
Okay guys, it is popular to be cynical here. But the reality is that there may be some job creation here, but the new company will need to make sure that that the strongest player is in the correct position for play. Many do not understand how important it will be for the company to perform and create value in a M & A environment post spin. Feel sorry for the Energy guys who incredibly slow in getting their act together.
In the broad picture, yes. But LC was slated to take over a little later down the road. The timing indicates that the board and LC recognize that things are at a critical point.
Thus begins the rounds of musical chairs with all of the corporate execs to create themselves a new home in the business units prior to their spin offs.
