I know no one wants to censor people. But this site was once a useful place for learning (and , yes, also venting) about 3M. But there also were insightful interpretations of corporate activities and valuable advice.
Not any more. Now someone is bo----g the site with hate, lies and vulgarity. Is there nothing you can do to decrease the presence of this individual so it doesn’t consume the entire content? It’s gotten worse and more and more inappropriate.
As the matter of fact, this site is administered. They have few simple rules listed in the footer of the page and site admins nuke posts that violate them. They usually delete:
names and PII (ok to name c-suits, not ok to name your direct manager or coworker);
personal insults, racism and derogatory speech towards groups and individuals;
politics and religion talk.
They usually let people using occasional curse or two, but over excessive use of foul language can get your post deleted as well. .
This post and others have the vulgar “c” word used…how is helpful or necessary?
Truth only comes out when there is complete absence of fear. Truth many times is cathartic.
While I am all for decorum on this channel, I do see some value in not having censorship.
If something is outright disgusting or vulgar, it would strike everyone as unusual and no one would interact with it.
If there is censorship how do you know that people will get to talk about pressing sensitive topics that effect their lives.
The company had always been garbage , just the last few years they have run out of luck. You see a lot of it now. If you scroll back enough you would even see posts if mid level managers installing cameras in ladies rooms. The company is sketchy as fu-k.
You don’t know your top dogs that well. It could be that someone is in dire need for help and is reaching out on an uncensored platform.
