I'm curious how this will all play out. Optum had a recent layoff and CHC is on a hiring freeze. Hopefully it will mean a well balanced team. Optum could use some of CHC culture.
I wouldn't stress over layoffs because severance packages will be offered, the job market is hot, and better yet you might get placed in UnitedHealth. The organization has thousands of job openings. Optum is a small subset of UHG.
However, if your still wondering....
You can always tell how fast a layoff will approach by the following:
- One of the Big 4 consulting companies are actively engaged with team inquiring about processes. Have you filled out a spreadsheet asking about your current work processes and responsibilities.?
- Your cadence with leadership is biweekly. (And it's getting more intense)
- Your work consists of risk remediation and its tracked by burndown. ( How close are you to be done?)
