IT function promotes from within (their pet circle) regardless of technical competency…look at the IT leadership team and their direct reports (so called BUDM). Could that be why we are stuck in strategizing digital strategy and buzz words instead of delivering digital solutions?
no, but enterprise digital strategy leaders are. IT just hires high PSG people from the outside, and they have no idea how Chevron makes money. A lot of external talks, full of fluff. Makes us look like a laughing stock of the industry even though what they say is not representative of what we actually do -- which is actually a leader in the industry in our core business. Imagine how much more efficient the company can be without this waste in IT.
Boxes aren't going to draw themselves.
