Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

It’s tiring to constantly expect the worst

I try to never worry ahead of time, but at Allstate it’s impossible to be relaxed and not worry. The only thing that calms my anxiety is looking for a new job.

Hasn’t it become tedious to work in a company where it’s almost impossible to expect something good to happen? When was the last time that anything positive happened here, any improvement at all?

You have a gaggle of some of the worst, most despicable humans on the planet running and ruining this company. All one can do is expect the worst. Just show up, do the minimum to keep the paycheck, and show the same care for the company that the company shows for you. It takes away a lot of the stress and anxiety. They allow you to control very little so one can't worry about what they can't control.

The 401k being matched every two weeks instead of a lump sum the following year (and only if you are employed by Allstate on Dec 31) was an improvement. And, Applause. I like it. Trying to think of others.

Nothing good will happen from a company who doesn’t give a damn about their employees or their well-being. All they care about is slashing costs at the expense of quality service and employees. It’s obvious how little they feel about their customers since this ultimately affects them. You’re doing the right thing by looking for a new job.
