Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Just had my annual review. LAME

I just had my annual FY22 review. I received a 4% merit increase and a weak ICP bonus and ZERO equity RSUs but told I was a top performer. Just WOW!

This won't cover the inflation. Time to move on from NetApp.

Wow. For once the grass IS greener on the other side (of I-40).

I B M 1.5-2% raises - for most of my team their first in 5-6 years. No bonuses, cash, stock, or otherwise. Because obviously we're not working hard enough to generate profit.

They just announced a whopping new bonus - upping ESPP discount is now 15% - had been at 5% for a decade or two. Even had fancy graphics showing how rich I'd be if I maxed-in and held while the (illustrated) stock price went up 10-15% per year. Gotta stay for that!

With the inflation number released at 9.1%, NetApp is way off the mark at a 3-4% merit increase. At least GK and the other C-Suite execs are well taken care of...

If you get equity, you effectively got a 2 or higher.

Idk about others, but I’ve always been a ‘’top performer’’ and always got around 3% salary increase per year. Previously I’d be okay with it saying at least I’m keeping up with inflation, but this year costs for everything have gone up so much that I’m slowly going under with my lifestyle. Choices are to reduce spending (aka lifestyle) or get a job that pays more. Recruiters send offers frequently with 20-50% more pay…netapp sure doesn’t make it hard to not consider it. Problem is I’m comfortable with what I do and honestly I know what’s not a good thing for my career. I’ve started on my own business as a way out of this rat race.

I've been told I was a top performer in every QCD this year. I just got a 3% merit increase and a very weak bonus. No RSUs. I actually like my job, the site, and my coworkers, but I think it's time to move on.

Salary increase (talking to ppl around) is around 4-5% which honestly is not great. But it is what it is. It implies that company thinks the salary is good enough for the kind of ppl it is looking to attract and may be that's true to some extent.

Or may be we are bracing for the recession, its better to limit the salary budget rather than opt for layoffs when things turn south (there's still no guarantee) ??

The poster asking if they got a 1 or a 2 seems likes a pro-NetApp troll. I think it's been at least 2 years since we dropped that old ranking, it might be the third review with it or maybe even longer. I haven't recieved my review yet, but I was told not to expect much, which I guess is 4%. And even if inflation goes back to historical norms we probably aren't going to have deflation, so you need something on the order of 10% this year to makeup for this years inflation, like so many other tech companies have done.

As for ICP percentage, I was provided a dollar amount. I did talk with a peer who got equity and it was quoted as a dollar amount as well and not a specific number of RSUs. I guess on the upside, if the stock price drops, you get more shares.

To the poster who ask if I was a 1 or 2, NetApp no longer uses that ranking and hasn't for 2 years. To think this inflation is mid-short term, you're as delusional as the people running the federal govt right now. I think you're the troll.

Sorry, but were you expecting a permanent pay increase to patch a mid- to short-term inflation increase? Riiiight.

And if you were a top performer, did you get a 1 or 2? The ICP is either the highest or second-highest this year it has ever been. And RSUs? They don't give them out to just anyone as a bonus.

This feels like yet another half-informed troll post from someone who probably doesn't actually work at NetApp.

4% raise is normal. People don't complain and stay. That’s s why nobody receives proper hike, ICP or RSU’s. Just leave and double or triple your compensation. My compensation doubled without negotiation. Leaving NetApp.

What was your ICP% ?

Those were not rumored - I and a couple of colleagues who are in the same band did get that 5% raise.
I guess they will normalize my hike to 0.005%, now given that hike.

You didn’t get the 5% bump a couple months back that were ‘rumored’ to happen? 😉 4% not bad tho really.. mine same if it helps..

Are you kidding? Every day is a day to move out of NetApp - an annual review shouldnt alone be the reason. If you, a top performer, gets 4% raise, I probably should anticipate 1% raise.
