Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

cost of living raise

Does anyone know if hourly will get a cost of living raise? I figure without a cost of living raise due to inflation we will be taking a pay cut. Does management including HR, district, ethics get a cost of living raise? i have this feeling there will be layoffs due to inflation.

You got your 25% off of the 48 pieces of furniture and appliances in the email they sent.
You can't afford your rent or to buy food but you can buy a new futon for 25% off

So that you know, even managers at home office didn’t get a cost of living raise. So I wouldn’t count on it.

No salary associate gets a cost of living raise. It’s not in the pay plan. Period. If anyone tells you otherwise, they are either intentionally lying or seriously misinformed. In the past, there’s been hourly wage uplifts for store associates and distribution centers. So it’s not impossible for certain job descriptions to get an uplift, but generally speaking, if history is our guide, I wouldn’t be holding out for a cost-of-living raise. Instead, however, it’s more likely to see things like the associate discount temporarily changed, and perhaps including food (like in November December and January). They could adjust the company pitch-in for the stock purchase plan. They could adjust the company match for 401k. They could give out basic memberships to Sam’s so you could buy things in bulk and get gas below market price. All of those things could directly benefit the hourly associates take home pay. But, don’t expect to see an across the board cost of living raise. Hope this helps.
