Different issue. Cancer treatments aren't generally illegal/criminalized by state governments. Regardless, all people should be able to get the care they need, and employers should help where insurance fails.

If I live in an area that does not offer the cancer care my family needs, will the company cover my travel costs to go where that care is offered?

Months ago a big group of this crowd was all about having medical freedom and medical privacy to determine if they wore a mask… shouldn’t the same apply here. What, you’re all hypocrites? I’m shocked 😳
Your body, your choice, you pay for it. CVX employees make more than the avg. person in TX, they can afford to drive or fly to a nearby state where it is legal.

Should pull out of all operations in states that don’t fully support women's rights. Business can be used for change, it will hurt but businesses need to take a stand.
There is a good business case for companies to actively encourage employees to get abortions. This results in lower maternity health care costs, no maternity leave, or future insurance costs for children. Employees can work more overtime and be paid less. It is no wonder that Amazon and others are paying for travel to get abortions.

Most large companies are doing so and have been for some time. Companies like Chevron that have large portions of their operations in red states have been including additional PTO, maternal care/leave, etc., in their benefits packages for some time.
No executive is going to raise a pride flag or attend a pro-choice rally, but large employers have been quietly insulating their employees from reactionary public policies and will probably continue to do so.
Chevron pays for expats who live in 3D world counties to travel on the companies nickel for needed health care, and it would seem only fair to extent this to folks who have to work in west Texas.
@vcc, We’ll see. All Chevron ever does and says is going along with what’s “hip”. In the end, this company will do what most other corporations will be doing, which is to include the transportation out of State as part of the healthcare coverage. For females only, as we all know that males cannot get pregnant. LOL.
Facebook, Apple, and Microsoft are covering it. CVX wants to be a tech company so badly, they should cover it too
Does everyone really think that corporations who were quick to exclaim THEY would fly their women employees out of State to get an abortion if they wanted one? Take knowledge in how to interpret what they said. They are not going to pay for the transportation. They will have the healthcare insurance company include this item as a covered service. That’s what they meant. Now, who is going to pay a higher premium come next open enrollment? We’ll, that’s you, the female employee of course, not the company. All you hope for is that you have a choice to include this coverage and pay for it or to reject it.
Is this in any way, shape or form related to layoffs?
