With attrition approaching 30% (the real number) and local places actually starting to pay more gf needs to step up and quick.

Ball Corp is paying process techs 28.35/hr. Starting.
Other companies are as well

Well if things keep going the way they do Globalfoundries won’t be making the wafers. Maybe someone will buy up this failing company.

I think the business case study would be very interesting. I have seen these studies in economics classes etc. write ups etc on various interesting successes and failures of companies. I think GLOBALFOUNDRIES would be perfect for such a write up and study

So people think we can’t hire/keep enough and that we are going to experience layoffs. Makes sense, I suppose.. either way, Global keeps making wafers.

As others have correctly stated, attrition is too high for any benefit to be had in a layoff. The stock is less than a year post IPO, and the market in general is having tantrums, no surprise that the price is hurting. Oh well, says GF- the cheaper it is on that ESPP purchase date, the less they have to spend for those “50”* share grants and the “20%”* match.

*less taxes, of course. Because who ever heard of grossing up?

Lost another tech this week- not even to a competitor, just other manufacturing. We continue to refuse to pay our people enough to do the work without getting poached. The focus on apprentices is going to backfire hard when there’s nobody around to train them.

Yes I think the attrition rate is way too high for a layoff to occur. People are leaving left and right on their own accord. No reason to have a layoff. GLOBALFOUNDRIES is in a very weird place right now. And yes if word of a layoff forget it. It would mass exodus that they would write up in business cases to study in future college classes.

Layoffs, lol, lost 3 more coworkers this week and 2 more plan to join end of June. If there's even a word of layoffs this place will empty out even faster.
All those level 7&8 wishing they had a bonus instead of useless stock.

No layoff Rumors yet. But if that stock price keeps falling it’s coming.
