Thread regarding 3M layoffs

How likely is bankruptcy?

Based on the recent results of the bellwether trials and the sheer scale of the MDL, it seems the earplug lawsuit will take a major chunk of equity from 3m. Recession is creeping in as well, consumer spending is declining sharply, inflation is at an all time high. Folks have been talking about unprecedented attrition rates on this forum too.

The company is in a quandary and the picture is only getting worse in the next few months. Realistically speaking, just what is in store for the company? I am certainly getting a bad feeling about it.

Just sell everything and go in a vacation to Hawai. Will get absolute peace of mind. No more lawsuits.

Bankruptcy or no bankruptcy, one thing is certain that the company will no longer be the most ethical company in the world.

This company is a joke, leave before they go after you.

To pay legal bills they would be needing massive layoffs and budget cuts along with selling of businesses/divisions.

It was ridiculous to think about BK a few years ago.

In the current situation, one has to start thinking about it. No longer an abstract thought in 2022 and beyond.
