Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

WFRD STOCK CRASH

Over the last few weeks the stock has lost almost half it’s value. The confidence level of this market sector has lost it’s grip. Oil is still over $100 and this company is still bleeding cash from all orifices. The financial strategies of punishing our vendors has made us inoperable to deliver anything at a profit. The old Core business is becoming hollow and over managed. When this market does crash further it will be déjà vu all over again. Are we sure we can’t find another job?

We all hope the yahoo HR groups are monitoring this site. BTW, HR is about to start getting lots busier. Sat thru a bigwig meeting today (if you can call it one) where one guy was leading the sh-t show talking about shutting down certain projects due to the budget spend getting reduced significantly. You all know what that means…

Weatherford has been abusing vendors for years. When you demand 120 day terms and still don't pay on time no one is going to quote decent pricing. Weatherford is the brother-in-law who is always asking to borrow money but never seems to remember that he still hasn't paid you back from the last time.

Vendors or machine shops that machine our parts so we can assemble our tools are being punished. They deliver the parts and never get paid until 6 months later. This is all due to our jacked up AP system not working as expected. Now we need to order more machined parts and the price is offset much higher because they know they will never get paid on time. Meanwhile we’re sitting around waiting for the parts… We tried the other cheaper vendors and they just scrap our parts and throw us further behind. All the old good shops don’t want anything to do with us because we always don’t pay or ask for a discount after the product was delivered. WAFJ
