Wait until a Vision employee finds out that a vision employee at a store 30 minutes away can make like $5-10 more an hour based on what HOme office decides for the geo area. I’d imagine there would be some animosity. Everyone should be having discussions of their pay

I just joined the VC team recently. I'm a long term high performing associate who was hourly to salary back to hourly (over the past 3 decades.) I also thought that vision center associates had it easy. I don't think that anymore. But I do know that VC is like every other area in a wm store, some run efficiently and some do not. So you can't group the entire VC in the company in one group. If you think it's so easy come join the health and wellness team or keep talking talking out your ....

There’s a lot of opinion and negativity in this thread. And some posts trying to just stir things up. Folks, this is turning into sc-m suck1ng social media. I know some of you can’t avoid lowering yourself to that level, but, really. Can’t we all be civil to each other?

Licensed pharm techs start at $18/hr. They have to have to go to school and pass a National test, which is hard. They will have 2500 to 4000 customers a week. What is wrong with that picture. Try to hire one of them
In non-licensed states, opticians make store starting rate to begin. My 18 year optician makes $16.00 an hour. The new optician that started this week makes $16.00 an hour. A 16 year old cart pusher makes $16.00 an hour. A bakery packager starts at$18.00 as does a produce associate. OGP starts at $19.00. Tell me there is nothing wrong with this picture. My opticians work their tails off. We see 60 patients per week for just appointments almost all Medicaid on top of it. Half our patients don’t speak English as a first language. It’s crazy town most of the time. I can’t imagine the he-l in licensed states. Just trying to find someone who can pass a dr-g test and a background check is also a major challenge. Between starting rates that are too low for the responsibilities and wage compression it’s a hot mess
You probably won’t see any announcements on this until late Oct. Be sure all your Certs are on file and any self study or refresher courses. I think the lock down date on certs and training is sept 9, I think that’s the end of the pay period.
Wow you are delusional. Management is the most overpaid, non contributory piece of the labor puzzle in any store. Hands never get dirty, walk in and out when they see fit never miss a break or lunch hide, nap, sneak off when needed the most. Dont be a hater of opticians at least we have a license on the wall to state our worth.
You’re already overpaid. You’re the highest paid people in the store and you just sit around all day.
