I work in auto claims. Everyday is bad. My phone rings nonstop, new files constantly with no time. I work 9-10 hours straight everyday and it’s never enough. I’m constantly being assigned work from coworkers yet my work is never moved even if I go on PTO. I feel that if I get ANY bad metrics it’s like they are going to put me on performance management. Is it really like this or is it just my own perception? I feel like I’m on the verge on a mental breakdown, this job just seems to get worse and worse.

Yes it is horrible and you are not alone.
I’ve been a claims adjuster in auto going on 15 years with 3 different companies (progressive, USAA and Allstate) in liability and injury and it’s the same story. Long hours, endless pending and 6 day 12 hour work weeks. Get out now while you’re young .
Get out now while the job market is overpaying for claims people!
Reading all these Allstate posts make me thankful I am unemployed.....
It IS that bad! It sounds like you need to work somewhere else, for your mental health.
Do you really have to ask, Frosty?
