And this has to do with layoffs, how? Pay off your debts street urchin. Nxtyou will want someone to pay off the lease on your apartment… cause I know you can’t get a mortgage.

I agree. Student loans should be forgiven. To all the elderly here saying that it shouldn’t, your tuition was dirt cheap when you went to college. It’s called paying it forward.
You took out the loan, you pay it back. If you went into a sh-t major and can't afford your loans, that's your problem.
no it wouldn't. you already demonstrated that you can't manage money. spending 65k on a gender studies degree should come with consequences.
Agree - college costs skyrocketed. If we can cut tax rates on corporations - basically a handout - why not help out those buried in student debt?
That concept represents everything that is wrong in our country today. The government doesn’t pay off your loans, we do. If you pay my mortgage, I’ll pay your student loans
Sure, and also pay the parents who spent 10s of thousands helping their kids with college expenses. There is nothing fair about the concept. It is just an attempt to buy votes.
Also, in inflationary times, handing people more money is just absolute stupidity. This is why we are here.
Sure, if they send the rest of us who paid it all off ours as well. Oh, and let's not forget those who weren't even fortunate enough to be able to get the student loans in the first place. Yeah, pay everybody everything.
