Don’t worry if you were selected to be laid off, the company is going down very soon. Everyone will be in the job market, consider yourself lucky to get a head start before recession kicks in.

On the positive side, 3M will be able to more easily hit there DEI and ESG targets after the next round of lay offs. A company that has nothing to produce anymore and is holding on for dear life thinks accepting the governments preferred narratives will save them. They are sadly mistaken.

Those affected will only be notified next week? Reads like a 50% hit rate

If a breakup were to happen, who shoulders the massive legal costs on the company? The veteran lawsuit will clearly take a major chunk, if not all of what was in the company.

To couple that pfas charges might come from Belgium. And recession and inflation are certainly not helping.

Big layoffs coming in TTS, R&D, and other SG&A teams. It would likely save folks if company split/s are announced.

Company breakup potentially ?? Hopefully some spills some beans for general good.

Many many years of mismanagement will finally result in dire consequence for the once venerable company. Unfortunately the people responsible for this fiasco will not face any music whatsoever. It will be the common well meaning loyal employee who will race the dire consequences.
