Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

What retail chains offer a larger hourly pay than Walmart?

I have made my decision to leave WM. As I worked in retail in the last 10 years I feel that the best idea is to apply at other retail companies first.
There was some talk about that on some threads on this board, but I would like as much info as possible. What retail chains pay a larger hourly wage than WM and by how much?

Target starts at 22 if you have reasonable experience meaning 3 or more years in something comparable

Target starting pay is more. Plus you get benefits on day one

Now that’s a unique and clever idea! Why didn’t we think of that?

Maybe try actually applying for other jobs and then you will find out what they pay and the benefits they offer.

What kind of retail are you looking for? If you’re personable and good at selling, consider a health club or gym. Selling memberships usually comes with a commission and salary. BestBuy is not bad. PetSmart if you like animals. Consider the US Post Office.
