It was nice while it lasted and now is the time to move on. Why are so many still worried with what will happen to the company in the future when most of them know they will not be a part of it? My biggest concern now is how many applications I'll have to submit until I find something else.

Same here, started searching as soon as it was announced. This way at least I have some control over where I end up and not have to just take what I can get if waiting for severance.
Especially if the deal does close Nov-Dec time, not a great time to look for new role
