Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

the outlook just keeps getting worse

and instead of finding real ways to keep people coming in, we're blowing money on receiving tables and slashing store hours and forcing 20 owned brands down people's throats, in categories that, as the article highlights, consumers are spending less and less on

Whether Motley Fool is breaking news or not does not mean the content is anything less than facts. There are many sites posting the same exact thing. You don't even have to know anything about the stock market or business in general to see BBB will not be around much longer.

Also there have been a few articles within the past year from Motley Fool regarding BBB that actually were positive, so I am confused about that statement.

Well, there are lots of posts on this topic already, so this isn't really news. Here's how the Motley Fool's pattern works:

  1. Pick a stock that's doing badly.
  2. Embellish what Wall Street analysts have already written about it to the most disparaging extent possible (probably because they own short interest).
  3. Tell the reader they like ten stocks better, but you have to pay them $49 to find out what they are.
  4. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Don't get me wrong - yes, things are pretty bleak right now. But posting Motley Fool trash is hardly breaking news. I mean have you ever seen a positive Motley Fool article that was free? I haven't.

MT and his minions are strapping on their golden parachutes for when they are jetted out of BBBY as Q2 earnings are announced on 6/29/22. They will be the winners while the investors will be the losers!

I was using the computer and there is a sticker on the mouse labeled mouse. Yup that’s going to bring the customers in and drive up sales.

That whole thing with taping off is ridiculous!! Seriously are we back in Kindergarten? I can see keeping areas clean and neat but do we need to tape where a tape dispenser goes. Seriously useless. Spend more time and effort on customers isn’t that where the money is?!

Yes! And spending time taping off areas of the floors like we don’t know where things should go on a daily basis. This nonsense seriously made our receiving area more cluttered and way less efficient. I know what I’m talking about. I’ve been there six years. Not only a waste of time for store associates, but also for the people that planned that all out, built the demos, took the pictures, put together and mailed the packets, postage, and follow up from the district managers trotting through the store putting in their two cents about it.
