Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Recently hired - it doesn't mean much when it comes to layoff

I don't agree at all with someone who wrote here that those fresh out of the college who were recently hired are any safer when it comes to layoffs. Anyone else here who thinks those employees are actually safer?

New hires and new talent, school or otherwise were always the first let go. It's not personal, it's 100% GM policy. You'll grow to know this should you decide to continue on with GM, and their abusive relationship.

The layoff of 2018 showed no one was safe. To your question, Track students were safe in my area. However, those who transitioned out of track into their new roles were the first to be let go. Then the rest of team "based of performance."
