PepsiCo manages by fear because it knows that many here think they can’t find a better job. That is not correct. The only problem is that most people start looking for new opportunities only when they hear some rumors about possible cuts. Why is that so? Stockholm syndrome? I have a friend who, after getting laid off, found a much, much better job. He himself admits that he would still be working here if he hadn't gotten cut.

The move is to get a severance. Especially us with close to 26 years and a big network. Take the full years pay. Move to where you want to live and get hired by Pepsi again in a more retirement friendly area.
