Targets stock is down

I don't get the comparison between BBBY & Target either. There is none. Target sells essentials like FOOD! Staples like milk, eggs, flour, baby formula and diapers... soap! We sell Simply Essential toast tongs and pizza peels that split down the middle, Our Table 6 in 1 cake domes that we can't even give away, Squared Away bamboo bins that fall apart, and various other company owned cr-p. GTFO with that comparison. Targets numbers might be down right now, but they'll be ok.

Wow, someone really trying to compare BBB to Target? First of all no company is doing well right now, in case you haven't seen the country is in a recession that is getting worse. Second, Target is in a position where "not doing well" doesn't mean the company is doomed. Third, they carry merchandise that customers actually want and will continue to buy. Also all their items on "deep clearance" are because they have too much stock and need to sell it to make room. Perhaps do a little research before making a laughable comparison.

“We thought it was prudent for us to be decisive, act quickly, get out in front of this, address and optimize our inventory in the second quarter — take those actions necessary to remove the excess inventory and set ourselves up to continue to be guest relevant with our assortment,” CEO Brian Cornell said in an interview with CNBC.

You will never hear this kind of intelligent logic from BBB. In fact they are doing the opposite!

Also Target's stock is up 4.4% for the quarter as of right now.

Don't forget a lot of these remodels may be happening because it is a clause in their lease. They may have been on the hook to remodel years ago and never did so if they close a location and don't adhere to that stipulation they will be fined a large amount of money. This is also why a store gets remodeled then closes quickly.

All that has happened up to this point feels like an implosion from within. It seems intentional self sabotage because WE can see all the disasters waiting to happen. Why can't they? I believe they do. And I believe they have an agenda that's not geared towards brick and mortar success. These are supposed to be intelligent people making the big decisions. I find it really hard to believe that they're driving the company into the ground blindly. I think they know exactly what they're doing. Otherwise, nothing makes sense. I'm inclined to truly believe that BBBY is headed towards existing entirely as an e-commerce entity. All these remodels are going through because funds were already allocated but I don't think they plan to keep stores open for too much longer. We've all already read about recently renovated locations closing. I sure wish that they'd be more transparent but we all know that's not the way BBBY operates. Smh.

I kind of fear it may already be too late. This smells of desperation.

They are probably basing this off of the conversion numbers. The 10 o’clock conversion is always bad. I don’t think they know how to run this company. Time to change out the executives again and bring in people who can fix it before it’s too late.

So we’re becoming more like the malls and Best Buy: Old, forgotten, and more digital to survive. Throw in self-scanners and my job is officially done.

Meanwhile Walmart and Target will pick up the early bird traffic and we’re left with primarily the lunch hour rush.

This place doesn’t care about us. Period.

They are committing retail su----e . Whoever thought of this is just nuts.
Open at 10 and close at 7. Have one late night until 9. Target is open 8-10 . That is where everyone is going to go. I’m not waiting in the parking lot until 11. Just another bad decision. The upper management must have a great contract so they will be covered when they go out of business. I feel bad for the store staff who really do the hard work.

totally agree about closing an hour earlier; we always have at least a couple customers in at 10, but the last hour or two are dead…not only backwards, but how many customers will show up at 10, see they have to wait another hour, and just go somewhere else?

We were told have to work 45 hours
So 8-530 it is
Or if you have an 8am truck
730-5 it is

Once again they get it wrong. Close an hour earlier, not open an hour later. We always have customers ready to come in at 10a. Our last hour each night is always dead.

Staring period 5 week 2 (4th of July week) store hours will be 11-8 m-f. They want no one in more than 2 hours early. So yes opening manager shift 9-7. Must be part of the home happier and quality of life philosophy. Maybe we said we want to get home from a opening shift at 8 in the VOA.

they're trying to push that in my district too, right now we pushed back coming in to 8 or 8:30 but not 9....yet. i'm guessing it's a combination of addressing no employees and slashing hours, and ignoring how draining that's gonna be on managers and how it eliminates pretty much all the time stores have to get the never ending price changes and moves done before the customers come in

I would not be surprised if they made management work 9 to 7 and then cut more hours.
