Now that the company has announced the consolidation of upstream, midstream, downstream all under NH and all the Corp BD, CSS under MN, what's next in CTC in the next year or two?
Who are the next VPs of APPS, FDS, Subsurface, Wells, IT?

I sense one of EB’s lieutenants will hang it up 1H next year…..
how much longer is EB going to give these digital guys who don't know digital? Or even IT for that matter. The company likely loses value from these experienced hires like RG as the leader of Chevron's digital strategy as well as EN as the GM of data or "chief" data officer, who actually doesn't know any other parts of Chevron others than supply chain and IT. those are some high PSGs who erode value by having the organization work on truly useless things that do not impact business units.
yes, especially those "digital" guys. all talk and no action.
SS VP has more technical cred than almost anyone in CTC. But he won't work forever. There are no qualified replacements because his direct reports are all stooges.
SS needs a new VP. 3C and OSDU have been a disaster thanks to his edict, and no one with enough critical thinking in his organization to push back on those things. Now that JG is gone, maybe there will be more common sense. The question is whether EB will ask the right questions and get the organization to wake up and see that business units don't need much of the garbage that they're building. It's not a behavioral thing. It's a common sense thing.
@truz RG? resource group? who is that?
Don’t see FC moving to another BU anytime soon, the complete deck just reshuffled last 18 months following transformation, Noble acquisition, CNE standup and again just recently with OPG. I think he will be there a bit longer and likely following BB when he retires. I do think we need the next to CIO to be more from the business vs. a long IT career and he would fit that mold.
RG is adding zero value to Chevron as chief digital advisor or whatever his title is based on his high likely psg. He is highlighting things we have always worked on and doesn’t understand Chevron. Anyone worked with him directly? Or is he just always speaking externally…..which tells you something.
FC wont be the next CIO. Back to larger BU compared to his prior CBU VP gig. I don’t see him staying in role beyond Q1 2023.
Don’t get me started about the lady who was in Procurement and is our GM of Data. Always posting videos on workplace…..
how is FC a diversity hire @hcad
I thought they hired the director of digital strategy to possibly be part of the succession pipeline for the CIO. and then he outed himself as a fraud by posting a video of his keynote address at a no-name conference on workplace. Wasted almost a half hour listening to the stuff he says in this conference, and it's like going back in time 5 years. All these "insights" that he speaks of is like saying 1+1=2. I can't believe we pay this guy to set our digital strategy. We are DOOMED.
FC may get CIO as he is a diversity hire via Texaco, one of the few to survive.
IT likes to talk about digital transformation with agile coaching and building powerhouses of software developers from india. meanwhile, the rest of the company does not care at all about IT except when their network goes down. A new CIO and CDO won't help that.
So has the current CDO also been a dud, as with BB and AG?
If AG becomes the next CIO then no need for a C Digital O because Chevron will never transition into digital world…just might as well give up now to save the company from spending more money to deliver results on PowerPoint. What has the current CIO and his leadership team delivered on any of the platforms that they formed the team with high PSG managers? BTW, The current CDO has a high-PSG-deputy to support him while rank and files are overwhelmed with work since the transformation. And do not give honest feedback because your GM will tell you to leave if you don’t like it!!???! That’s the IT function culture under the current IT leadership team
he moves on to some other BU MD/VP or corporate center GM role. it's not like he an IT guy to begin with.
So what happens to current CDO if they hire from outside??
CTC gets rid of the CIO position and everything IT will just be under a C Digital O, who will be hired from outside CVX.
Surely next CIO will be AG
Next CIO is a lady as CTC is an expendable leadership position for diversity purposes.
Who's the next CIO?
SN is too clever to ever return to CTC. He is aiming for a BU MD job.
SN is already chosen as next VP
The entire "director" scheme has failed. They just get in the way with d-mb questions and suggestions. I see them all out by year end.
CTC is a joke. So much waste and overhead, especially needless travel.
VP of SS requires someone with a technical reputation, not just a typical talking head. JK has the technical ability and checks the diversity box, but maybe not the leadership skills. EW is too old. PC has been adrift for years - expected to quit soon. I'm thinking most likely a senior female already in the organization.
BG will be next VP APPS. Subsurface someone like EW or PC.
Any manager who burns there bridges in the BUs will be shunted aside into CTC. Mess up an MCP, you can run facilities. Drilling disaster, you can be the wells leader. Very few worker bees in CTC move up the ladder - mostly they grind around in the dirt while defrocked managers drift through.
CTC is in a world of its own, increasingly irrelevant to the company, particularly due to the Transformation. Less and less BU work, more vague 'research'. It really doesn't matter who heads what in CTC.
How much longer will the APPS VP stay? He’s be around for over 40 years. Who’s next to replace him?
