Thread regarding Ford layoffs

The news media is playing a game of "Telephone".

Unless we hear something directly from J. Farley or B. Ford on a Ford network, we should assume it is B.S. I heard up to 8000, then around 4000, then and around 2300 since about 1700 have been cut already. All we have is Farley stating we have "too many" people.

The third-party news media is reporting rumors and hear-say. The more it is repeated the more it changes. Case in point... the train station.

No matter what happens Ford will drag in this out for months and months... 200 here... 700 there... next 400,,,and on and on... until we go insane. With no rhyme or reason as to who gets picked.

We should use this board to network and discuss which suppliers are hiring and what they have to offer. Also, if anyone knows companies outside of automotive and what are they like, and what do they have to offer.

I used to be a bracket engineer. I better update my skills matrix so I am not overlooked.

This will not be dragged out. It will happen at the end of August and it will be like 2008. It is going to be ugly. Your number either is picked or it isn't. Not much to worry about. Just enjoy the nice summer days until the hammer is dropped.

In watching our senior management react since the Bloomberg article came out you can tell they were not happy or prepared to talk about this topic. Unlike the 2000s when the troops were given notice months in advance. But we no longer have that. look back in April. that one happened without warning. Sad to see that happen. Shows lack of character and courage. Definite example of what not to look for in leadership.

Ok, now it is probably Labor Day. JF & BF said reductions are coming... Did BF or JF say 8000.. 4000 or the 2300? Did BF or JF say Labor Day, or October, how about starting 2023?
I saw the town hall typical speech for any company. We are doing great, but things look tough, and sacrifices need to be made. In the end we will be stronger.

All companies say they have too many people in certain areas, and all companies state they need to get rid of people. I am just tired of all this ambiguity BS. Also, a lot of media outlets just copy each other without actually taking to BF and/or JF.

In yesterday's TH both JF & BF stated reductions are coming. Words from the Donkeys mouth

Cut it out. It's happening, Farley has been chomping at the bit to get rid of people. He's been saying that we have too many people to numerous media outlets in interviews. It's happening very soon and probably complete by Labor Day.
