I try not to take rumors seriously, however, lately I have been hearing speculations from many people that there could be cuts here. Of course it could, no one is safe and that goes without saying, however, what is the probability that there will be cuts soon? For some reason, I think that probability is still low.

“The other two” are not what GM needs to worry about
I'm sure there will be a number of retirements complete by September 1st, as those opting for a lump sum pension know that the value of the pension is going to face a big hit October 1st. Such might be enough headcount to avoid layoffs.
Just be prepared. At the end of the day GM does what is needed to survive and sometimes that means painful job cuts. Automotive will always be a cyclical business.
I guess we are pretty lean now. With better EV’s than other two we are positioned well.
The cuts a few years ago were DEEP.
With a hiring freeze there will always be speculation that cuts are coming next.
No way to know.
Doubt it will happen unless things take a much more dire turn.
