Does anyone know whether promos were halted the first year after acquisition from
Broadcom for CA, Symantec or brocade employees?

some promotions went thru within one year post acq. but we're mainly for lower level people L3 and under. a lot depends upon how critical of a skill you are. and no, it's not about being some leetcode yak, it's having a very highly specialized skill for a sticky product....

If you are looking for a promotion try to get it out to VMW now, it won’t be coming from bc. I obviously have no idea who you are and what you do, but oddly can guarantee you it won’t happen at BC.
Yes, promotions will be halted at least in the first year after acquisition. They did this in past acquisitions
Promotions? People usually are demoted after the acquisition closes to align with Broadcom titles. So if promotions are important, this may not be the place for you. Not being hateful, just candid. Promotions are hard to come by at Broadcom and you are generally better off without a management title.
