Broadcom Employee Cuts

https://www.livemint.com/companies/people/broadcom-intends-to-make-vmware-its-flagship-brand/amp-11658433182446.html

Per Raghu
“We have about 9,000 employees here. Globally, we have over 37,000 employees. We are roughly 2-3 times bigger than the Broadcom software business. As a result, we expect a large chunk of VMware operations to continue as is, which means a lot of the employees are going to continue doing what they are doing today. Broadcom has not announced its post-acquisition plans, so I can’t speak for them or be more specific at this stage. We are very clear that we will continue to exist as an independent company with our product strategies and market plans.”

Raghu could be lying
His words imply that he knows BCs plans but cannot speak on them publicly yet.
Go take a look at BCs layoff page because there are some concerns about getting let go there.
Interesting if the revenue increase comes from cuts to the lingering CA and Symantec employees.
It is unreasonable to not consider broadcom employees as collateral in the mission to increase ebitda

I’m not the person that posted, but am with Broadcom currently and can tell you our life is filled with worry. BC is planning the quarterly purge as I type this, and you live in constant fear of being canned. I read these posts to see what you all are feeling, but the cuts will be felt on both sideshow, that is for certain.

Why use terminology of “my own” CEO? You’re with broadcom then. And you think this deal won’t impact any of you? Or are you worried it will? Broadcom employees are currently the loudest in the room probably because some of your departments are getting scrutinized too. Maybe you should start looking for another job now too… just in case.

You beleive your own CEO, Raghu?
Sooo, you think Hock is going to buy you and let you spend money like there is no tomorrow?
You really beleive nothing will change?

I must be slow too as I missed the word “publicly” in his statement. So I guess this means we should trust Raghu and believe that Broadcom is going to keep most (like 85% or greater).

“ As a result, we expect a large chunk of VMware operations to continue as is, which means a lot of the employees are going to continue doing what they are doing today”

Define “a lot”. 10,000 is “a lot”

“So how does he know that a lot of the employees are going to continue when he says in the same sentence they Broadcom hasn’t announced their plans? So weird. This statement means nothing.”

Are you slow? He says broadcom has not [publicly] announced their plans so he can’t speak on them. He knows though. The publicly is implied with the word “announcement”. Raghu and co knows broadcoms plans, they just won’t say it out loud for whatever reason.

This is management double talk in one sentence:

…which means a lot of the employees are going to continue doing what they are doing today. Broadcom has not announced its post-acquisition plans, so I can’t speak for them or be more specific at this stage…

So how does he know that a lot of the employees are going to continue when he says in the same sentence they Broadcom hasn’t announced their plans? So weird. This statement means nothing.

It’s like me saying Miss Universe and me are getting married; I don’t know her and she doesn’t know yet, but it’s going to happen.

Raghu should just shut up and not say anything. If he truly doesn’t know, then just say that. So frustrating.

It is hilarious that at this point in the game that people still believe the liar CEO. He has absolutely no conflict of interest with his 50 million payout and the other millions that he has encashed. In fact it is in his best interests to lead the herd to sl------r and ensure a smooth transition.

If you beleive in Ragu sauce you should also believe in flying pigs, aliens and Santa Claus.

While the meteor is hurtling through space on a trajectory to destroy earth, earth will continue to act as an independent planet.

Ok, have fun hanging onto your last 100 days with your head in the sand.

What a disgrace!

This is coming from the man who a day before the acquisition was announced officially, said on slack that that “he too had heard about these rumors.” Or something to that effect.

Sigh
