How do we call the plan to cut 8,000 jobs: repositioning for the recession or pure greed? For me it's pure greed.

Repositioning. Time for an EV future!
Companies do it all the time. It is what it is.
Everybody thinks “I am safe” that is the fake sense of security FMC gives you. Then who are the 8000. But at the end of the layoffs all the slackers who belong in the Friends and Family plan will be saved.
If you think its solely greed by Ford Motor and not everything going up in price even the cost of employees and eveything the previous poster stated. If its only greed why the he-l are ypu working for Ford Motor.
The layoffs are coming for other companies as well. GM did the same size layoff in 2019 so for some reason Ford Motor held off doing what GM did for 2 years those greedy ba----ds.

OP - if you survive the cuts, you aren't going anywhere and you know it. People that want to leave Ford, just leave. They don't announce their plans anywhere.
You are just like those Hollywood types that claim they are leaving the US because they don't like the latest non-progressive policy. They never leave either. Just hot air - nothing else.
Ehh i think its because the cost of everything as in all the parts and materials has gone up, then you have the part shortage which has been shutting plants down pretty frequently for the past 2 years, the 2+minths of shutdowns where we made nothing in 2020, the cost of the cdc covid requirements, the high amount of employee call in sicks that were on the production lines, the recalls, he-l my 2016 was just recalled except the part needed isnt available till at least oct, the delays if months and for some years to get a vehicle that you ordered.
The EV stuff the materials for that is costly as well the push for that alot is from the federal gov and other greenie countries. I mostly think its the excuse i think our economy is in the sh----r so no not really greed but central planning doesnt work and so here we are
The fed is adding more demand destruction which the inflation has already caused and is still causing demand destruction.
We are basically in for he-l. Take uncentory of your skills hopefully you have recession proof skills.
Don't focus on the negative. Focus on finding a place or job that you want to work at.
