It's hard to understand. When the manager tells us that we are overstaffed, I start wondering what it would look like if we were understaffed.
Have they no shame saying such things while one person is covering several departments? Every day I want to leave more and more.

Do any of you understand retail and the current environment? Sales are up in grocery, low margin, and down in GM, high margin. For a store to be profitable they need to manage the largest cost center is people. MANY companies are implementing hiring freezes and layoffs. Walmart is more susceptible than most. It’s not Rocket Science it’s retail! Hopefully you are all taking advantage of the free college so you can move out of retail?
We were told yesterday absolutely NO overtime. If you are scheduled 7 to 4 shift, you clock in at 7am. You clock out at 4 pm. No clocking in early, no clocking out late. You aren’t allowed to work more than what you are scheduled. A multi billion dollar company worried about that?
It's adds up to millions. Walmart is the nations largest employer. If all hourly associate's worked just 10 minutes over per week the total cost would be enormous. You just have to think several layers out.
Our crew stopped unloading a truck and were told that we needed to go home 2 hours early

Our manager says we are overstaffed. We usually have 2 people working produce and 1 in meat and frozen seafood. They might send Groc Cap 1 to help for 3 hours but they don't care about the department and sc--w things up worse. Everyone on Fresh and Grocery has their hours cut so we leave at noon. They only hire Online Grocery shoppers who mostly have never held a job before.
Walmarts life story for 20 years.
Yeah no overtime, no worked over scheduled hours, but the management still gets their bonuses. What a crock of sh-t. Stores are so overstocked with merchandise, no one wants to work, freight up the wazoo in the back room. Recipe for disaster.
No OT, No W.O.S.H!
What? “Have they no shame?”Seriously? Are you kidding me? Did I really read that? Like, there’s a list of shameful things a company can do and Walmart exceeded their allotment of shameful things so now extra special shame should be brought on them? The part about the obese store manager is cute, but what’s the real point here? Don’t you all understand how retail works?
It is amazing that after GWP restructure which already stripped the sales floor to nothing they still want to cut more hours.
Is this a result to Walmart increasing hourly wages? Has the demand of OPD staffing destroyed the rest of the stores staffing?
Walmart must be in some kind of trouble. Markdowns are nearly shutoff, staffing is the worse I ever seen and that want to cut more. Restructures had accomplished reduced staffing at the cost of store standards and moral. The candidate pool for supervisor positions are so poor because nobody wants to be a part of this sh-t show all they do is work unworked freight all day and never learn to be a merchant. The good ones are leaving or already left when DMs went away. Who is teaching the future TL and coaches? Not the useless Academy.
Walmart panic to keep up with Amazon has broken the company.
What in the-heck are u talking about? SMH
With the government investigating walmart for money laundering there will be more over staffing issues soon
We are on a hiring freeze. Omg seriously?? This is as per the market office and home office. Ridiculous.we can’t get freight or top stock worked. What a train wreck.
Our obese store manager parks at the TLE entrance, waddles their fat rear end to their office and never comes out of the office the entire day. They spend most of the day with the door bolted shut.
Coaches and store manager have literally ZERO clue what goes on on the sales floor and what most associates deal with on a daily basis. If they would need to work on the sales floor all day long, I’m sure they wouldn’t say that. Maybe they will realize how much sh-t we have to do.
