I am just reading some text about big carriers' reaction to inflation and I wonder if our leadership could have reacted better to inflationary pressure?

They proved that corporations can lie to congress and be okay, as long as they pay taxes as expected.
The employees who implemented the corporate strategy so successfully will pay the price. Layoffs bit by bit this year, and then next Spring, watch out, because that's when the merger commitments time out and then they can do whatever they want.
Their reaction is to cut the top line expenses via layoffs.
