Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

It's disgusting

At the cost of losing my job, I talked to the manager and tried to explain to him that the amount of work I do is huge, that I am overworked and that the expectations from me are unrealistic.

I received an answer that the expectations are not unrealistic, but that I should try harder.
Hasn't their ignorance become utterly disgusting? Yes, I will try harder and find a new job somewhere else.

All HR & management hears is blah, blah, blah. They probably don't have half a clue of what your job consists of anyway. Or perhaps they DO, but turn a blind eye to it. They don't care one ounce how many hours, weekends or holidays you work or time away from your home and/or family. They make big salaries & bonuses because YOU make them look good. Dial back and I bet they take notice. They won't get the same output if you leave and a new hire comes in.

No. Stay where you are and slow down. Why should you have to be the one to leave? Just fail slowly and let that failure trickle up to your manager. Make him suffer a little too.

I’ve been doing the job of essentially three people since January. No thanks, little offer of help and everything that goes wrong is my fault. Tomorrow a person from HR will meet with us to discuss “mental health”. More woke virtue signaling I am sure. This entire company is rotting from the head down and like an expired fish - stinks. I can retire next month - albeit early . For those who are too young to do this - get out as soon as you can. Even for the same $$ - your physical and emotional health is worth it. This place is the skunk at the picnic of big business. From their toxic products to horrid management - everything about this company stinks and is anathema to good health.

I too explained my workload repeatedly and all I got was more work or the reputation of complaining. I was doing things that used to be done by a team of 4 and no recognition. My days consisteted of 16 hours of work. No family time, no weekends, expectations of working during time off and vacations. Was told I was an intergral part of the team, no I was just a su---r they used. The amount of disrespect I receievd from co-workers, managers, directors was atricious. Self esteem was crashing, and insecure each and every day of back stabbing co-workers complaining. Went to HR and all they did was tell my manager and it was magically erased.

If they admit their is a problem then they would have to fix it. The truth is they know there is an issue but they have no way to fix it so easy to turn a blind eye. Not sure if your a front line employee or middle Managment both are in the same situation. Good luck on your search or hang in there the best you can.
