Is Raghu going to stay for giving a product vision?
I thought Hock was going to give all that.
Tom Krause was going to take over. Now he left, and Hock's running all the show.
Raghu would be given a sweet retirement package.

Ragu’s next job will be picking out what color his Porsche will be and decorating his new Hawaiian estate. It takes effort to spend that kind of money , it is a full time job.
Hock will keep selective execs under your Ragu Spaghetti Sauce CEO. Depends upon many factors.
Also don't interpret Hock "taking over" as he's actually going to be running the show. Before BSG was formed all of the franchise execs reported to him, we ran as independent fiefdoms. Even under Tom we ran as independent fiefdoms for the most part. BSG is a "go to market" shell at best. It's not driving a tech or portfolio strategy.
also, Broadcom makes wild swings/changes to policy and organization on a dime. what is today, can change in 30-60-90 days, and change dramatically....
Raghu wlll make VMware the Switzerland of vendors - have faith
$50 million is what Raghu gets if he is "fired" after close. Why would he want to stay? Zane, JP, Sumit and any other execs with change in control, take their money and run!
Raghu needs go away and he can spend the rest of his retirement focusing on the “Main thing”
Raghu is hands down one of the worst executives VMware has ever had...and that was before they made him CEO!
Who in the fu-k suggested Ragu would stay?
your dreaming - the vmw execs cannot execute none will be kept, worst figures in years - they will just keep heads down and business as usual then take the 10-50 mill payoffs
Raghu is not going to stay. Hock is a profit driven, straight business, numbers, CEO. Raghu is an "also ran" that was installed to not interfere and not rock the boat.
Think on this. When Pat left prior to spin off they could have picked an outsider CEO... They could have went with someone proven to drive a tight ship. Could have found a CEO with a vision for VMW and even given them some time (a year or two) to see where that leadership took the company.
Instead (knowing that they would sell this thing first opportunity) they installed a pushover from inside the company. One that is not driving change, not driving profit and FOR SURE not inspiring or leading with a vision of what we can be.
No, he is the pushover CEO that will get 10's of millions to go away, and will do so happily. He is a failure that failed up and Hock will not have that running anything in his company.
The only product vision that Raghu has is "Don't rock the boat, follow what my masters tell me to do, and I can count my money later."
Raghu had plenty of opportunities to stop the rot and kick incompetence to the curb. Why didn't he?
This is just a trending pipe dream (i have no idea why!!) from some folks on this board. Some people think that because Tom left, that Raghu will lead "VMware" under Broadcom. No. Why on earth would Hock Tan do that. Think people.
Hock will not offer any roles to any current executive. He is very clear on this point. He had never kept any CEO or CEO direct report after the acquisition closes. He will pick one of Sumit’s direct reports, but with accuracy, no executive will be kept.
