Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Will there be a chance of voluntary LR/ER this round?

I'm hearing about RSUs being distributed and the end of fiscal. Would this be to try and keep some people that otherwise might qualify for ER/LR?

The last ER offering did include Directors (I know several who took it) and above although I understand VPs had a higher age requirement. I lost out on the IPF criteria: 1.45 and above were disqualified. But … I agree it probably won’t come around again.

The ER package has only happened twice, more of an extraordinary circumstances situation. After the first time they said they'd never do that again because so many people took it. The second time they didn't let Directors or above take it, and I think if you had a really high IPF you couldn't opt in.

Most likely it'll be the quiet layoff - new process where we're eliminating your roll you have X time to find a new job internal or external. Unless its a large layoff (or if they've switched again) they're trying to have these fly beneath the radar.

Probably no generous incentive to leave this time. Way too many people including myself would take the offer. It would literally ring the bell of death for the company.

I'm amazed that anybody decided to pass on ER in the previous offerings. That was the easiest payday of my life and I got to leave Cisco as a bonus.

It's LR only at this point unless you are VP or above.

It's so biased that the rich take care of themselves. Why do executives get golden parachutes and get paid to leave when they fail at leading a company? Same for coaches, they sign multi-million dollar contracts to coach for 5 yrs or something like that and then if they have 2-3 losing seasons, their contract gets bought out and they go work somewhere else for another multi-million dollar contract.

Where's my cheese & cr--kers? I need something to go with my whine. :-)

The days of ER are gone. It's LR only at this point unless you are VP or above.

LRs are never voluntary.

I think he might be referring to the several rounds of RSUs given to key talent over the past couple quarters to hold folks until the normal focal cycle.

RSUs are given out at the end of every fiscal year.

Offering ER would be the smart move but it is Cisco so I doubt it.
