I've been here almost 7 years now and have only been promoted twice. Is there a trick to avoiding the 18 month rule?

The 18 month rule (and all rules at Pepsico for that matter) only apply when they benefit or are convenient for the company or when they are inexpensive. Over 3 decades I have seen many rules broken or bent because the company needs something or doesn't want to spend the money. Some very important food safety rules completely ignored because the solution wasn't cost effective.
Idk how you can stay in the same position for 18 years, but you must not have the best brand/network. Sometimes going to those company happy hours can pay off if you're willing to do some extra curriculars...
Slow it, Chloe. I've seen your kind before. Unless you are a campus hire, consider yourself lucky to have been promoted twice in 7 years. "You must be related to someone".
They pass through a select group of people or diversity candidates. No one is promoted by hard work. It’s all network driven.
Well since it takes 18 months here to get comfortable in a new role, then your time frame of 2 years to get good enough at it to excel and be promoted is very realistic!! Sounds like you were promoted for your aptitude and not because you check a box on the diversity plan or because you are someone's nephew!! Maybe you should check your expectations?
It doesn't matter if you've 7 promotions in 10 years or 2 promotions in 20. It will feel slow and you're only growing when you're moving. Haters on here mostly payroll and other useless admins. Ignore them.
What is the 18 month rule?
Who are you related to?
you have been promoted twice in 7 years? I have been with the company almost 18, I applied to a job in my office and was told no because they didn't want payroll issues. So I have been stuck in the same position my entire career. Be happy they have promoted you not once but twice
