Folks, this is hot off the press. Been in a meeting all day and a massive cost-cutting is on the horizon in Q1. Will be announced in August and folks will be given the usual 60 days to look for a role within the company (which never happens) before they get shown the door. The package will be the smallest ever, but it is better than nothing. If you're planning on quitting in the next 30 days, hang on, let "them push you out".
Chuck, the math major will give the usual reasons for this upcoming LR: supply chain woos, chip shortages, covid19 lockdown in China, strong US dollar, missing market transitions, counterfeiting of cisco h/w, misbehaving hackers, blah blah.

About time to speed up the transformation
As said before: There will be significant layoffs consistent with the recession and the desire to become more software focused. Pay attention to the upcoming earnings call, both what is said and not said. Understand you are working for a company in transition similar to IBM in the '80s.
Why is anyone surprised? Cisco has institutionalized the LR as a "best practice" for many years. It's an abhorrent culture... and if you don't like it, there are green fields out there. Don't work for a company that may unpredictably chew you out because a McKinsey consultant ran a spreadsheet for some incompetent HR person you have never met anyhow and just shows up for LR meetings with execs.
RTP will not be sold because no one wants to buy ugly cookie cutter buildings in an undesirable part of the country populated by mouth breathers.
"if your 45 'n above, cisco not wants you no more. u is expensive insurance cover. is businsses not blameing cisco trys make profits
me is 27, kids no, health perfect, not use insurance, so cheap and save money cisco.
so dont anger if cisco is lr u. can re--rd now, get social securiety."
i get what you are saying but i would put money down that i am more than likely in as good of shape if not better shape than you are. just because someone is in their 20s does not mean they are in great health. i saw many fat a$$3s and total slobs when i was there who were younger than me.

Right after this - emails were sent on certain groups in mid-market sales being given the 60 day axe. Appreciate the fact that Cisco at least gives notice. Are more layoffs coming?

RTP will be sold, finally.
LR coming, i seed the list, not good.
This is the Cisco board, not Oracle.
How accurate is this information? Should I jump ship now if an opportunity presents itself?
@ewa+1hHp91vA How many times are you going to copy and paste this comment on this website
3-5k blue, 6-8k red. Blue badge 9 10 & 11 employees at top of range in their grade most vulnerable along with remote workers. Red badges assigned to project work most vulnerable. Broad de-funding of all projects. SJC hit the hardest. Smaller exit packages.
Good thing finally comes !!!
I am waiting for the ER or to be LRed,
You're so full of schitt. Which EVP would immediately come out of such a meeting to leak the gist of that meeting to this site? Please
Lawernceville closing?
RTP is closing?
One meeting all day?
No wonder we’re doomed.
