Any opinions on this? I have a feeling this JV won't come to fruition when the cycle busts.

Had the same thought. I am feeling that ST might in the end get GF FDX technology for a very good price and GF will quit the JV like F11 in China.
We do not have the Dresden Fab full for 22FDX and now we go and start a new fab with most likely our technology and st’s money
Yea but Intel SEC and tsmc have other real things. Ground broke. Buildings up, etc. I cannot open LinkedIn without seeing something new one of them is doing … on their own. GLOBALFOUNDRIES tries so hard to mimic and copy but they always fu-k it up or twist it into some mutant Pygmy thing. We are the reject knockoffs off brand for the industry. Our leadership tries but let’s be honest there is a reason they are at Globalfoundries and not Intel …. They are great at faking it but not making it
I like how everyone's been crapping on TC/GF for not breaking ground on 8.2 until promised subsidies are more concrete... but when Intel does the same, PG is lauded and showered with publicity

Why can’t GF do it on its own? Like Intel Samsung and tsmc has in western US, Europe and Asia respectively.
