Is there a reason for doing anything but the minimum at PepsiCo these days? If there is, I can't find it. We are underpaid and we keep losing our benefits, so compensation is certainly not it. Nobody but those who know the right people can get a promotion, so it's not career advancement either. What is left? As I said, I can't find one good reason to work hard for a company that treats me like this.

What happens when you leave or plan to leave this toxic pit of despair? I can tell you because I’m about to quit. I am sleeping better, am emotionally and mentally more stable and my stomach doesn’t hurt from stress 24 hours a day. I’ve worked for 45 years - both bigger and smaller companies- and can attest this is by far the most ruthless of the bunch. No real pay raises, no recognition - no anything but more work. Can you believe these imbeciles are making us read a book on “feeling appreciated in the workplace” as part of an id--tic “book club”? As if we have time to take a dump let alone read some feel good garbage designed to distract us in yet another inane meeting. Hey PepsiCo- want to make us feel appreciated? Stop cutting our jobs and doubling our work. Give us a real raise and bonus. An auto generated smile and some woke feel good cr-p doesn’t cut it. I am so glad I’m getting out while I still have some sanity.
Pepsico is filled with so many pathetic self-aggrandizing drones that actually think they are important and all the c-r-a-p they do is important. "Work Ethic" is the last thing that matters at Pepsico.
If there was ever a poster child for the I never get promoted or recognized group in here and you want to know why, its this post and the mentality/work ethic that created it!!
I made the "why bother" realization in Plano years ago, so I just did the bare minimum. Plano is such a toxic environment loaded with self-important, back-stabbing sycophants. But my story has a happy ending. I got an awesome package, then took a year off to de-tox, then moved on to a less soul-crushing company.
This entire company is rotting from the top down. The expectations are far out of line with the demand. The cheap miscreants who run this mess keep boasting about the companies increasing profits - yet make you feel grateful for a stinking 3% raise this year after giving us 1% every year prior. Oh - no bonus unless you’re “worthy” in their eyes. PepsiCo is an example of what happens when the inmates run the asylum - which is what the place is - an asylum. I’m four years in yet I feel like I’ve done 30 years in this toxic ho-e of despair. But I’m near early retirement age and might parachute out soon. My heart goes out to the thousands of decent hard working people - especially at the plants, DC’s and drivers - who toil over 12 hours a day and more only to be sp-t on by management. Sad place to start or end a career. Young people: don’t do it. Run like Forrest Gump!
Do your job and do it right
Life's a ball, TV tonight!
Do you love it, do you hate it?
There it is, the way you made it.
Only work as hard as your self dignity demands. Then put together an exit plan and get your bu-t out of there. The toxicity can be soul wrenching.
There is no hope left. No loyality for hardwork and giving 200%. Overworked, too much stress and in the end they will walk over you. Toxic environment.
Best to leave and put it behind you, there are other jobs where you will feel appreciated and rewarded both personally, professionally and financially.
I work hard out of personal obligation to my team members and customers. It’s frustrating when I cannot get others to respond to emails or help with simple tasks. It’s becoming the norm as there are many burnt out or younger people that are promoted too fast.
