Why is there such a high turnover of people leads?
From what I see, the job is too stressful. Too much work for 1 person.

Have you read the comments here? You want to manage or lead this bunch? Have you watched someone work a small truck for 2 hours? I hate to say it but “in my day” we had about 12 people for grocery 12am-8am. I guy doing end caps, bread, etc., during the day and we did two trucks and back stock. Watching what goes on now and the complaining just blows my mind.
Job is going salary very soon so who cares?
You are exactly correct. No one can do anything for themselves, every one runs to the people lead for everything. Team leads and store manager and coaches tell associates go see the people lead. I’ve heard them say it right in front of me. the store manager and team leads and coaches need to stop what they’re doing and help THEIR associates instead of telling people to go see the people lead. May be then the job wouldn’t be so damn stressful.
Actually, the People Lead job sucks because of the totally incapable and brutally stupid employees we have to work with. I don’t know how many times I’ve left work at the end of the day simply shaking my head. And it’s not only the hourly store associates, sometimes the leads and coaches and managers are just as dim witted. I wonder how any of these people are able to get through a day or a week without inflicting self-created drama on themselves.
Hey don’t make a stupid ignorant comment. Not everyone is brainless.
It’s because the job requires at least the start of a functioning brain. Unfortunately, not going to find that at Walmart
Job sucks. They expect you to do the job with no help and pay sucks.

Too much work. Unrealistic expectations for 1 person. No support from your management team.
