Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Store standards Gone to H. E. $. $.

Now after 5 years (+) of losing the greatest groups of tenure / experienced leadership you can see the standards (that would get you fired before) as the normal standard of stores.

Houston Tx. Has the most divers - most complexed stores in the company. On any given day you can find

  1. Out of stocks everywhere
  2. UN-zoned depts
  3. Out of dates on the shelves
  4. No leadership in sight
  5. Trash all around outside of store
  6. Police cars in parking lots
  7. No sales clerks in any Dept.
  8. Can smell old grease from fryers

The list goes on and on - Good luck supporting the Denver Broncos as the corporate Kronies lined their pockets with your $$

Hi bud, you work for Walmart and say it doesn't make sense? What does working for Walmart do. Walmart will buy 4500 of Canoo's electric delivery vans and up to 10000vans.
Now where is Walmart's focus? The stores?
Have you seen pictures of Walmart's home office management? Why do they have to have their hand in their left pants pocket? What image are they trying to project? The mild good old boys. I got your back?
If they flipped a coin they'd have a 50 - 50 chance of getting it right. I don't want to give them too many ideas. Watch your behind, layoffs next.

Part of the plan. Stores are there for the new fleet of electric suv's. Customer, associate have their position lowered. Its all from corporate trickle down. The most pressing code of conduct for the board of directors is to have a hand in their pocket looking like Andy Griffin during a picture take of leadership. Play their game.

I have to look no further than our own store. We use to be one of the best ran stores in the market. It indeed started with the removal of DMs. Teaming may look good on paper but that assuming your team is going to have that DM mindset which most don't.

I'm the hardlines TL and my area use to have 3dms and on the avg 6 sales floor associates through out the day and night. That's 9 associates in Sporting Goods, Hardware/Paint and Fabrics Crafts, celebration and Stationary.

Most days I'm lucky to have 4 associates including myself including closers.

Today I had one opener and one closer because of "cut hours". If their goal was to cut payroll I guess they accomplished that, however I never seen so much OT given out at a Walmart in my life.

The stores are the same on the Eastern Shore of Maryland/Delaware/Virginia. We are promoting people who are not ready. Store begin to crumble because management under begin to have resentment. Then we create an atmosphere of no accountability. Of course we favoritism which eventually backfires. There are good people that work for Walmart but upper management avoids them because they have an opinion and what to do what is right but upper management won’t allow it because they didn’t think of it themselves. The motivated and dependable worker disappears. Good luck. It’s only going to get worse.

LMAO. Well, maybe this IS the norm in Houston. I don’t doubt that for a second. Traditionally, those stores in that market have had exceptionally poor store management going back 10 years and it’s been a revolving door of bad and incapable store managers since then. Most of the problems stem from a poor labor pool in that area. I guess that’s not a surprise to anyone.

Post is exactly spot on. Stores look like sh-t. Out of stocks, stores filthy, no help in any department, out of date products, rotting produce, good job Walmart. This all started when you removed department managers from stores and created the stupid position of team lead. These team leads cannot get their jobs done while managing too many departments. Oh and trying to hire people who really want to show up and work is another post all of its own.
