Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Let's talk more about Call Center Restructuring. Who here knows when the bottom 4 performing sites will be closing?

https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1hiZ6vZm

The above post absolutely nailed it, it's clear they knew all these restructuring layoffs were coming. But do any of you know when the bottom 4 sites are going to be closed? I am trying to get out asap but don't want to end up jobless.

No, sucking isnt a reason for violence. It’s not like this was his original idea. Opex synergies we’re part of the 2022 budget before he was around.

I think you underestimate leadership’s capacity to make d-mb decisions.

Anyone in care knows iPhone is just around the corner. There is no way we could be d-mb enough to close 4 call centers coming into the busiest time of the year. Maybe 2023

The new routing wont keep more calls statesside it just keeps them in region which includes the global agents. To bring more calls statesside internal cec need to actually work and take calls. They are so mollycoddled.

To the people saying to message Frier and ask. Do you really think they would tell you? Do you think he would have told you before last week of the positions that were just cut? Why would they say that to front line workers, all it would do is throw everyone in a panick and looking to exit. There is no way they would ever leak that info themselves until it goes into place. They would just tell you what you want to here and then rug pull you.

To the “upper leadership person”, let’s see if you’re legit. Tell us the elements of the new comp plan. What is it? When will it be effective? Let’s see what you REALLY know.

To that person that says they’re in an upper leadership role, that’s complete BS about what that person is saying. There is ZERO talk of closing Consumer call centers. The decision-makers for site closures are Sievert and Freier. No one is empowered to make those calls. I am very aware of what is going on here. I’m telling you that there will be communication this week where this stupid P&L model will be eliminated and we will be repositioning Customer Care to take more calls in the U.S. Jon has an all employee meeting this week in Bellevue. Ask him and come back here and tell us what he told you. He’s talking to all of the Care Coaches on Wednesday too. That said, I would expect ZERO additional call centers opened after Rochester. Jon made them change HINT telesales from being outsourced to being now 100% handled stateside.

Mark Nolan is the one trying to do all the outsourcing. That’s what he knows.

Thank you to the person with the better insight on the situation and the head’s up. Myself and my family are highly likely to be directly impacted by this and it could wind up detrimental to our living situation if I hadn’t have known.

I wonder if meridian is on the chopping block....weve been at the bottom all year, our cost of living is way up so alot of tenured people are quitting and going else where....and our recruiters keep hiring class fulls of absolute id--ts so our stats are in the toilet

I could see Salem being on the chopping block. Not necessarily the worst performing site mid to low pack and attrition is abysmal and it is now a higher cost of living location. I am just unsure if the site is leased and how much that would even play a role.

All I am going to say is that I am in a upper leadership support role and work directly with the people making decisions like the layoffs and site closures. I was informed maybe 3 months ago that there were serious talks about closing lower performing sites in higher pay areas. Why you ask? Well, I asked the same thing - turns out attrition is much higher in areas with a higher cost of living, in lower paying areas $20.00 an hour is semi-competitive which makes people think twice about quitting. In area where the cost of living is much higher attrition is through the roof. When attrition is through the roof, it drives stats down due to lack of experienced employees handling calls. Anyhow, I was told that the changes would be in the next 8 months but they are not final.

My best recommendation is that if you are in a lower performing site that you get your bu-t in gear and help the site perform. Lastly, to the person who commented stating that Jon is doing everything possible to get jobs moved back to the US, that's a complete lie. In the last 6 months we have shipped hundreds of more jobs to the Philippines and Alorica statewide. Almost the entire HINT team is outsourced, over half of customer care and a large portion of Business Care.

Don't end up a layoff statistic, stay aware, the only reason I am even posting this is because I am concerned for the families that will end up impacted. Layoffs are a serious thing, people end up homeless and some committing su----e, it's not a joke to me.

I have direct knowledge. There are ZERO plans for U.S. call center closures for Consumer. If you don’t believe me, e-mail Jon Freier and ask him. He’s trying to engineer changes to bring as much calls back stateside. You’re about to see call routing logic change in a big way that drives more calls to the centers we have today. Watch.

I think it depends on what time period is used. If it's year to date, Colorado Springs for sure is on that list. Their building lease was renewed in 2020, but not sure for how long. Chattanooga's building lease is up this year, I hear. I think Springfield and Meridian have also been at the bottom of the year-to-date stack rank, but this is going off memory right now.
