Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

Unrealistic expectations

Of course, a person should be self-critical. However, when multiple people, not just me, say that the expectations of employees have become unrealistic, then it is definitely a sign that the management is not doing its job well.
When I tell a friend from another company what my manager here demands of me, he cannot believe it. It is high time to leave all this. But what to do until then? How do you deal with their unrealistic expectations?

They don’t care. They only care about cooking the books until a buyer comes along and the execs get their payday. They are demanding a lot bc they are not putting in the need resources and they froze hiring.

A lot of the really bad upper and mid managers came from M&As. A lot of clueless, unqualified people in these roles. A bit alarming.

The expectation level is crazy and bad communication that goes with it doesn’t help. Leadership has been lacking to say the least. I am my own toughest critic and have pride in what I do like a lot of other people I work with. If your product is not up to par it will be noticed.
