There is no doubt that the quality of the product is declining. If I were the leader of this company, it would be worrisome to me and my top priority would be to prevent it from declining further.
Is it possible that the leadership doesn't pay as much attention to quality anymore? That's my impression.

Example, the CX7 (sales name, actual model is 7772) can't open a cash drawer reliability. It fails more than it works, blows "self-healing fuse" and you have to power down, remove power plug from the wall for 15 minutes to fix. Dip-Stick rookies redesigned the cash drawer circuit to lower power and lowered fuse rating. Older cash drawers with a sticky or binding solenoid pull too much and "pop goes the weasel".
No examples? Just making general broad statements?
Comes down to staffing or lack thereof. Deep down most of the management still cares about quality but can’t do too much when you don’t have the staff to handle all of the work. Penny wise and pound foolish. Remaining personnel doing much more with less that seems to be the theme nowadays.
They do but that’s what you get when you cut costs across the board.
