Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

I am setting myself a goal

I cant tolerate this abusive, back stabbing, toxic and cesspool of an environment. If I can get out of this company in 3 months, I will, otherwise I will resign and better my mental health and skillset while being jobless. People stress less about mental health impact NetApp has on its employees, its very concerning and any prospective employee looking to join here should consider my post before they make a call.

Layoffs shouldnt be the only concern on peoples' minds, they should be worried their physical and mental health too. NetApp does everything in its power to destroy these two assets of any human being. No one should join NetApp really, its a void where a lot of careers go to die.

I just wanted to encourage you to start looking. I have been exploring for the past 5 or 6 weeks and have gotten many interviews - including at some of the hyperscalers. The job market is really good right now but who knows how long it will last. I have had a few companies tell me that the role I applied for was put on pause (ie hiring freeze). I think 90 days is a good amount of time - I am pretty sure you will find something if you are committed to it. Good luck!!

@RTP-OnTap'r and @mih+1h9YNiEL - I think the OP did say that (s)he's planning on leaving. Not sure you guys suggesting that again and again makes a difference - LOL

Wow, some real good abusers from NetApp popping up here, hurling it against someone who spoke about mental health. Nice going! keep up the spirits high!

Both views are true. NetApp has some great spots and some horrible ones. It’s like any company. Typically your direct manager makes it or breaks it. If you hate it leave or transfer, like any job.

I for one find alot of these negative posts amusing….sure some hold water but most like this one are clearly trolls just trying to paint the worst light possible.

The real question is WTF are you doing at NTAP still, I’d ask the same thing about anyone posting bu-----t like that with any company. Captain of your own ship there boss…..nobody at the helm? You make it sound like your an entry level janitor. Grow up.

WTF are you both doing here, in a layoffs website if you are so happy?

WTF are you talking about. I've been working at NetApp for over 10 years. Your comments wreak of trolling either because you got canned because you sucked...or you work for a competitor. This is a great place to work if you are willing to MAKE AN EFFORT. You will be compensated VERY WELL for this effort. PERIOD!

Damn. Sorry you feel that way. Not my experience at all and I know several others would agree…. All of these negative posts are wild….literally have not seen any “toxicity” in the time I’ve worked here and that goes back to early 2000’s in RTP. Backstabbing? Abusive? Cesspool? It sounds like you should take things up with your manager or go to HR and look for a new gig within the company or go ahead and leave.

Careers go to die? I guess working with several levels of world class technologies isn’t enough for some people. I’m sure there is always a company that has more tech. Also there is a shift to the cloud but it’s pretty obvious that’s the direction for many technologies. He-l coming from a storage and software company we are doing big things to be a major player in several clouds, while keeping focus on flash for example, not sure what else is expected.

Best of luck to you if you stay or leave.
