It's getting a little tiring. For me that is more hard to bare than the unrealistic amount of work and growing expectations of employees.
If were to do a poll, I think it would turn out that more people are leaving here because of the constant fear of layoffs and incompetent management, than because of overload and everything else?

I don't see it at ntap more than any other company. I think the only place where it's a "constant fear" is on this site. Look back through the posts. Literally every month or quarter is a FUD post prophesizing yet another huge layoff that never comes to fruition. Not to say that we're immune. Just like every other company, it will eventually happen. Then the doomers can shout, "See!? I told you!" Just do your job and keep your skills sharp. If you are eventually impacted, there are no shortage of companies that will still be hiring.
I used to design surveys for companies, which I’ve continued doing at NetApp. The surveys are technically anonymous, but you get per team roll outs which does let you zero in on people fairly well. You also need to be careful because sometimes anonymous doesn’t mean fully anonymous. The truth is management doesn’t really care about these surveys as long as it gives you positive talking points. And let me tell you if you tell me the answers you want I can make the survey results say it. It’s not even that hard. The way you group questions, change an adjective, and provide possible answers combined with subjective talking points.
Those surveys are useless, nothing gets done from it. Worse yet, your company can easily identify your survey from the others. They are not as anonymous as you think they are.
NetApp gives you the ability to express these fears in a yearly survey… so just do it!
