Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Transfer to Accenture

Seems like a new round of RIFS started yesterday and I’m hearing about a reorg in GI whereby some people and/or groups would be pushed over to Accenture. Can someone in the know explain what happens when an AIG position/employee gets transferred to Accenture? Do you interview for the same position you hold? Do you keep your salary or does that get negotiated? Any details about what happens with benefits and the whole process in general would be greatly appreciated.

Heard New York Times is doing an article on the rebadging concept as more companies move this direction. And they expect our loyalty.

For those that may know, when getting transferred to Accenture, is one “negotiating” salary, pto, benefits, etc? Or is it they tell you what’s what and it becomes a take it or leave it situation? Also, do the years of service to aig carryover or does one start from zero when transferred?

If accurate, definitely immoral. Guessing it's probably not illegal though?

Usually same pay when rebadged to accenture, but different bonus amounts (lower I believe), less paid holidays, and different benefits. As other post said, if you don't accept their "offer", aig treats it like you have voluntarily quit, and you don't get severance.

If you do not accept the Accenture rebadging, then AIG looks at it as if you voluntarily quit. You will not get severance benefits. I know a couple of folks who moved over, and just about any. company is better to work for than AIG. Given the recent turnover in IT, hard to believe they would move anything else to them, but who knows.

It's different with every deal. You could get the same money, sit in the same seat, and nothing changes but who actually pays you. Or your world could be turned upside down.
Once the terms are all nailed down, if you're one of the ones affected, you'll get the details. It's a whole lot better than guessing and/or having a bunch of internet randos guessing :)
