Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Macy's / Sears similarities

Someone here wrote in one of the threads - - - "Macy's is implementing the SEARS business plan." I don’t know how many of you here have worked at Sears, but I wonder if Macy’s reminds you more and more of Sears now?

And while we are on the roof topic, does Macy’s even check for out of dates/expired? You can’t run a food program half a** you are either all in or don’t bother. Kmart tried to have a good/consumables business and they failed miserably. Imagine carts and carts worth of expired food, some of it by several years, going into the trash. This was of course after a surprise state audit that found multiple out of dates on the shelf. What a joke.

I worked at both Kmart & Sears. They are a spitting image of each other and Macy’s. There is no difference. I knew Sears was done when they got the candy bars at checkout. Guess what I saw at Macy’s a few years ago? Same thing. Macy’s is done.

Never worked at Sears, but as a customer I noticed 1 open register and piles of random
clothes on all the fixtures. In my opinion, the best thing about SEARS were their Craftsmen tools and Kenmore appliances. It was my go to place for those products.
(Choose wisely, build your brand and stick to it! Rome wasn't built in a day!)

Also liked the DieHard batteries and bought Levis jeans there. SEARS was for people that wanted practical stuff that worked.
