Learning tracks

What do you think of the mandatory Learning track online courses?

Feels like a complete waste of time isn't it?

JG15 and up learning tracks just haven't rolled out yet. July or August rollout last I heard.

I think they mostly are used as a measurable way to show employees they are not doing a good job. The company can be failing and you doing everything you can to have a positive impact and your manager will focus on the 3 times they received notice you were late taking courses you had already passed 4 times previously. It is this kind of misplaced priorities that has left 3M in its current predicament. They have no ideas about winning back market share but they sure do stay on top of monitoring those compliance courses.

I made my manager snort/laugh when I asked if I was correct in my thinking that they took feedback and came up with the opposite of what anyone had in mind for growth and development.

Opportunity related to our professional development, not the purpose BS and some cr---y online courses.

Yes of course. More distraction for the sheeple of 3M.

Hey we can't provide you with any meaningful growth for your career, so here is some redunant courses that might look like it is helping you in your career.

Don't worry too much, keep working hard with little resources and don't ask for a promotion.
