Internal Audit now hiring in Houston?

Is Houston going to be the new hub for internal audit given the VP of IA resides in Houston?

people would want to work for MPC due to:
base salary (higher than many other industries)
bonus target (better than many other industries)
401k match (higher than many other industries)
cash balance pension (does not exist in many other industries)
cost of medical insurance (lower than many other industries)

anyone who has not grown up in O&G industry knows the total compensation/reward package is good compared to most other industries out there.

Just curious why anyone good with this background would want to work for MPC?

No chance. You’ll have better luck moving to a different company in Houston. If you are young, you still have a chance.

Houston is very competitive for talent, most Marathon employees are not even close to “talent”

If internal auditors from San Antonio choose to relocate to Houston will they be paid on the Houston pay scale? The demand for O&G talent is much greater in Houston vs. San Antonio thus the base salaries are higher.

Yes, anyone who has any self respect and is not near retirement who has chosen to stay at MPC in this market is likely subpar.

Yeah, sure let’s pay relo to move a bunch of sub-par talent from Findlay to Houston, where there plenty of strong talent. That’s some good marathon thinking, you’ll be up for a promotion in no time!

Findlay has been on a massive decline for years and can't even hold onto talent anymore, mostly because management won't open up their checkbooks . Not surprised that they would entertain this thought

Really need to move the entire operation to Houston ASAP - much more oil and gas talent and better work ethic at that location.

I hope they continue to post auditor roles at all levels in Houston. There is a ton of Oil & Gas talent there that can bring in diversity of perspective to the function.

All roads lead to Houston!!!

More than likely any city outside of Ohio is a strong possibility. I’m sure they’ll always be people in Findlay, but those people will more and more become the “outsiders”. Much like what happened to Bartlesville with Conoco/P66. Welcome to the decline Findlay!! Haha!
