Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Jump from oil to mining

I have heard from several people that they have jumped from oil to mining, that they got a job fairly quickly and are now making significantly more money. I'd like to leave Exxon as soon as possible, but I'm still not sure that mining is a much better option. I need the advice of someone who has more experience.

Lithium, copper, rare earth magnet materials. All take mining.

Electric cars, trucks.

Make sense now?

I went from Exxon to mining. Culture is a generally more old school, probably how Exxon used to be. But there's signs that is rapidly changing. Equivalent to slightly better benefits. Slight pay increase. It does seem like there's more upward mobility than at Exxon
