Sshh don’t give them ideas, they might just try this :D

On a serious note, the bigger damage is done to their reputation. It would be very tough to come back from it.

Anyone trying to spin off will be sold out for cash, the company needs money to pay the veterans.

I guess I agree with most of your complaints in principle. I just thought “snowflakes” were college aged libs, not 40-something’s successful enough to be execs. Maybe it’s just anyone younger than oneself these days ;)

Hmmm. Looks to me like the boomers worked their a$$es off to keep the company resilient through decades of recessions, energy crisis, wars, inflation, financial crisis, increasing competition, etc., only to be laid off by someone who didn’t value their knowledge or work ethic. Certainly the newbies aren’t to blame either but I’d say some of the newly minted executives have a big bag full of blame to share. They can’t fight their way out of a wet paper bag, let alone conquer a series of complex issues ranging from supply chain problems to declining market share to employee motivation…

Blaming the downfall of a 100 year old manufacturing conglomerate on some zoomers that have only worked here for like 3 years is pretty bold. I think a certain generation nearing their retirement should look at what they’ve done with the power they’ve had.

Majority of companies worldwide are in transition,, post covid the newer generations are taking on vacancies that are easy and unchallenging, these snowflake generations will ruin the big corps, they all want to work from their bedrooms, it will be the decline of an honest day's work

With the quagmire that the company top dogs have managed to dug itself into, things already look very dire in 2022.

Talking to colleagues, it is clear that majority think that this is probably the lowest point that Mother Mining has reached in many decades. Mind you that many of these people have been here for multiple decades and hence this can be considered a long term study.

If 2023 indeed turns out to be messier than the last 2 years , people are going to need serious mental help..... can't even imagine how people are going to cope with more mess, redundant superficial changes and general clusterfcuk all around internally in 3M. Let us exclude external factors right now.... don't let me get started on those topics now.
